Background image on Remote Desktop connectios

I finally got tired of waiting for that slow as @#@ Dell background to load when I remote desktop into a server. One minute spent on a quick tweak and it loads beautiful now without the long wait. Here’s the steps:

  1. Open Regedit
  2. Go to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
  3. Look for the background filename in the right-side, ex: c:\windows\system32\dellwall.bmp
  4. Delete the value, or if you just want to change it, put the path and filename of the new background

That’s all there is to it.
